Just So You Know...

I’m back.

Please bear with me while I play blog catch-up.

I also have to catch up on stuff around here. How can there be so many bills, phone messages, calls to make and other crap to deal with WHEN I’VE ONLY BEEN GONE FOR A WEEK?! (But it was a great week.)

And while you certainly did not hear it first here, we have all well and truly screwed up the world’s climate. The evidence is on my body. I have returned from cottage country covered in black fly bites – on my shoulders, neck, hairline… In past years, these pesky creatures are gone from the area by mid June. Due to the unusual amount of rainfall we’ve had this spring and summer, the little buggers are still in abundance and were gunning for me.

While I am now well-rested and (relatively) stress-free, I am also lumpy-looking.

But I’m a happy lump.

Well, as long as you're a happy lump and not a grumpy lump!

Welcome back to the world...

Glad to see you are back and well-rested. HUGS.

Mosquitoes are really pesky more than usual. The other day, I went out to hang wash on the line an returned to the house with six bits. Usually, I get NONE. My SKEETER stix to the rescue!!!

That is the only thing I don't miss about the North woods.

Welcome back! The bugs aren't so bad further north....as in North of Ottawa....buggy indeed though. Scary about the climate change isn't it.

Welcome back. I know you missed my witty abuse. We don't have black flies in Oregon...but then Oregon was deemed the whitest city in America too...

Missed you, too. Sounds like you're having a wonderful (lump free) relaxing summer.

You win - they love you more...

pavel:
Good to be back but I miss the cottage life - despite the lumps.

shari:
Mosquitoes play fair - you can hear them coming.
(Thanks for the hugs.)

guy:
If there were no black flies, the North would be Heaven. Well, and maybe no bears, no snapping turtles... (I am so fussy.)

oreneta:
It is scary. And in all seriousness, those bites really brought it home to me. At least the lake seems healthy.

beth:
I missed you as well. You're such a busy woman these days - happy days ahead!

amc:
I must have yummy blood - and hence, the lumpy flesh.

ve:
I really did miss your witty abuse - and your funny posts!

Welcome back! When we moved to FL we were warned that the bugs there were terrible. They were certainly larger, but no more numerous. Here in NM however? I've never seen so many bugs.

Beth,
So glad you are back and that you had a great week. Lumpy and bumpy is not fun, but I am glad it did not get in the way of enjoying your week. Hope the bites clear up soon.
XOXO

Glad you are back. I'm soooo glad I don't know what a black fly is, and I hope to NEVER meet one!

You were missed.

I'd certainly risk those bug bites over dealing with the bugs in a cage. Glad to hear you're back.

Afterbite is my savour!

Did I tell you that the black fly bite from France is still itchy now and then?
