If I Hide??

(Warning – several dead horses are being severely beaten in this post.)

Enough with Christmas, the New Year hoopla, seasonal greetings and all that jazz. Done. Over.

Enough with mice (i refuse to check the traps), gas leaks (levels have now been checked three times i do not find this reassuring), wonky furnaces (noise reverberating throughout the house i have a headache further repair being done thursday), leaking roofs (bucket in use), a gas meter now chirping like a bunch of crickets (what the hell crickets don’t chirp in winter to be checked some time today) and blah, blah, blah…

I’d also say enough with the numerous repairmen dropping in but I desperately need them. (For the repairs…of course…)

Change of pace. I’m counting my blessings.

1. The dog no longer has gas.

2. I’m going to accomplish my eat all the candy before mid-January goal.

3. I’m still trying to come up with #3. But I am trying – which should count as a blessing in itself.

Beth is clinging to sanity with her very short fingernails.

Can you tell???

Hope all is well in your world(s) I think I’m inhabiting a parallel universe.

I THOUGHT OF #3! The Leafs won last night. In overtime.
Thanks, Mats and crew.

LOVE this graphic...we've almost got enough snow for you to do this...if you really want to!!!

Sounds a bit like the "nut" house there Beth...hang on to that sanity...and I'm glad you're finding the positives...doggy has no more gas is a good one...and #3...miracles happen on New Year's Day...UnbeLEAFable!!!

Things can only get better from this point on...they have to!!!

Hope that's not you in that photo, Beth! ;)

Well, I'm not a hockey fan, but I'm happy for you that the Leafs won! (Gotta hold on to any good news that comes one's way, right?)

And what about this weather? It's freakin' FREEZING out there!! But at least it's sunny...think of all that vitamin D! (See? Just like Monty Python says..."Always look on the bright side of life...")

I am with you on the hoopla stuff. I am so done with it!

You mean repairmen are good for things other than repairs? Have you been watching late night television again?

This is good... Going into 2008 with attitude.

What a funny graphic! I totally feel that way. We had a Murphy's Law Christmas, if it could go wrong it did.

Oh, my poor Beth.
Let's make an igloo and hide in it together, and do nothing but drink hot chocolate. I'll even help you with you candy goal!!

I DO have enough snow to dive into headfirst (piles from the driveway) but so far, have refrained. I'm clinging to my sanity - haven't lost it yet!

patricia:
I am looking on the bright side - really. The dripping from the roof has stopped because it's now ice!

trish:
Depends on the repairman - some have been age appropriate and some have been completely (but wonderfully) inappropriate!
As if...

rebecca:
Oh, I have attitude. Can you have too much?

myutopia:
So, I am not alone. Still, you have my sympathies.

lainey-paney:
When it rains, it pours - when it snows, it turns to ice up here. But I still have heat!
Happy New year to you, too!

princess pointful:
Well, that sounds delightful - if you know how to build and heat one. I haven't a clue! And we'll have to buy more candy...

beth:
Re: the repairmen - see my response to Trish's comment!
And, yeah, I'm still smiling...

Beth,
I am glad you are still smiling (and blogging). No more gas from the dog is a really good thing, the rice worked!!

Sounds like it would be a great time to read and read some more. That is always a good cure for the frustrations that always pop up. You certainly have a lot of them popping up at once.

Things will get better. That I know for sure.

XOXO

Love the photo--after a day back at school, the whole head in the snow theme is peaceful and calming.

So glad your team won. Whenever I see hockey on TV, I always think of you.

Eat all the candy before mid January. Now THERE'S a resolution I could get behind.

I had the KABOOM thing on my mind the last couple of days. Good thing doggie doesn't have gas anymore. Hang in there.

I'm not going to say "It can't get any worse" because I may jinx it.

Glad your LEAFs team won. Packers won. Now I gotta wait till Jan. 12 for the next game.

Sounds like the new year is off to a great start!

These frustrations are actually insignificant in the scheme of things (as you know...). Take care.

mrs. g:
If you're seeing hockey on TV, does this mean your husband still has control of the remote???

mary alice:
Yeah, and it's a resolution that could also get "behind" me, too!

shari:
I'm a worrier but this gas thing is beyond me. I'm at the point where I'm just saying, "So be it."
Congrats to the Packers!

diesel:
Truthfully? It is.
"This too shall pass..."
(And I'm not referring to gas...)

Oh Gawd, I just love that picture!

Damn, when it rains, it pours.

But at least dog isn't farting anymore. Thank heavens for small blessings.

I get such a kick out of your sense of humour! Did you dog send his gas our way? Because our little Dorothy had gas yesterday. Yikes! Go Leafs!!
