Connection

There are days I read my favourite blogs and smile – even laugh out loud.

There are days I read some of my favouri
te blogs and could weep for the pain and sorrow people are enduring. And all I can offer in the way of comfort are words. It feels so inadequate.

And yet…I must keep in mind how the words of others can make my world right again – make me feel connected to people who care.

Those who blog may not be able to offer com
fort in a physical sense but the comfort we receive from the words of others manifests itself in a physical way – a smile, a happy sigh, a loosening of those tense shoulders, a sense of belonging that can lift your spirits.

Just a “Welcome back, Darlin’” can do it for me.

I belong to a community of people who share – their stories and their concern - and who care.

It’s a nice place to hang out.

Apropos of the above, I am the recipient of a Bl
ogging Blessing from not one, but two bloggers – Sherry and La La.

Well, bless my soul! A double blessing… My thanks to you both.

The blessing is as follows:

The idea…it’s a game of tag with a difference, rather than looking inwardly, we look outside ourselves and bless, praise and pray for 3
blog friends. By participating in this endeavour we not only make the recipient of the blessing feel valued and appreciated, but we are having some fun too. We’re going to see how far the bloggin’ blessings can travel around the world and how many people can be blessed! Recipients of a bloggin’ blessing may upload the above image to their sidebar if they choose to. If you receive a bloggin’ blessin’ please leave a comment on this thread here so that we can rejoice in just how many blessings have been sent around the world.

I am passing this on to:

Shari
Apryl
Coffee Mom

These ladies already possess great spirit, humour and the capacity to delight in the world but I figure an extra blessing (or two) is always welcome.

(No pressure as to joining the “tag.” Simply consider yourselves appreciated and blessed by me – for what it’s worth.)

I was talking to a friend last night. I was telling him something I'd learned from a fellow blogger. I tried to explain that although I've never met MET anyone through blogging, I have this unique online support group. There are happy days, sad days, thankful days, boring days and thought provoking days. I love it. ...and I'm glad I 'met' you. :o)

I'm always happy to see you at my blog, Beth. You're always so swee - er, encouraging. Charlotta too. It's great to be able to connect with people like you.

And yes, this really is Diesel. I'm having a moment, ok? Geez.

I've been so inspired by the blogging community I've become a part of in just a few short months. It does really bring me so much joy, and that has been a wonderful and pleasant surprise. So glad to have found you!

Sending love your way!

Yep, Darlin, though blogs do take away a lot of interpersonal (face to face)relationships, these relationships still feel pretty good.

I'm always happy to see you blogging too darlin'...and yes, sometimes we laugh, sometimes we cry...sometimes we laugh at others after they have pushed the limit with their "squats" (!) and end up walking like a duck!!! LOL!!!

I know two of the people you have graced with the blessing and I shall check out the third....watch me as I waddle off..... LOL!! :)

A double congratulations to you, my blogger friend. I love what you wrote Beth and it is so very true. There is a very strong and special connection between bloggers. I feel so very lucky that I know you. For the record, your words, when I am down, are extremely comforting. Likewise, when I am happy, and I get a "you go girl" type comment, it is very uplifting. Your words are very meaningful to me, and for that I thank you.
XOXOXO

It can be difficult explaining the blogging phenomenon to non-bloggers.
Glad I met you, too!

diesel:
You are allowed to "have a moment" - nice to see your sweet side...

la la:
It's inspiring, fun, rewarding...
Glad we found one another!

Pay it forward...

guy:
Guess you recognized that bit...
And, yeah, these relationships do feel pretty good.

sherry:
Gently, my dear, gently. The perverse part of me wishes I could see that waddle...

oreneta:
Thanks, pal. And so are you.
(And I'm still hanging tough.)

eileen:
I know you received that blessing, too. And I feel blessed to know you.

Wow.I am...wordless. The blogosphere is a great way to connect. For me, I don't have to "miss" things. I can read the contents of the blog and be part of a "conversation" in the comment section without looking like a fool because I misunderstood what's being said. That's what I love about blogging. Though I can't explain the "blonde" moments...LOL

Thank you, blog pal. I always enjoy your posts. What I love most about blogging is that you still get the feel for what the person's like. The personality, the up-and-down sharing..it's a virtual city of bloggers who find a connection. There's no other word for it.

Thanks again for the blessing. Will share the blessing soon. I'll be good and follow the rules this time...:)

No, Diesel is not allowed to have a "moment." That's totally wrong. He's messing with the space-time continuum by doing that sort of thing. Doesn't he know that?

And you rock, Beth.

BTW ... I've spent about two hours here on your blog trying to come to grips with the idea of you playing Guitar Hero.

It is a fantastic community, hey?
They sometimes offer me more support than my real life world...

Words were originally magic. They still are, just a little less so.

And I'm so glad you are part of the "conversations."
Do not feel like a fool in that other conversational part of the world - my orders!
Bless you! (Again.)

Re: Diesel's "moment" - it's rare, the world has shifted on its axis but I loved it!
As for me playing Guitar Hero - oh, yeah, I'm capable of that and a whole lot more...

princess pointful:
It is a fantastic community. (And for the record, all these comments just got me through another rough time.)

once again, you put into words what so many people feel about blogging. This IS a community, and we care about each other. While me may not ever meet in person, just knowing that those people are out there and thinking about you, can make all the difference in the world some times.

So glad I know you and you are so deserving of those awards!

You are so right about the blogging community being a nice place to hang out.

What a nice way to be blessed.

I don't comment on many blogs or receive many comments, so I don't share that same sense of community, but I will say it's great being blogging buddies with you, Beth!

So very glad I know you too - and I really hope that some day we can meet in person. We'd have some laughs (some cries??) and lots of fun wouldn't we, kiddo?

trish:
And you were one of the very first people I ever "met" - both in the blogging world and later on in "real" life. I was (and am) lucky to have found you.

rebecca:
You're a great blog pal - and some day we'll get together, climb a mountain and sing our hearts out! (And bring the baby!)
