Watch Me Now!
I played Guitar Hero* on the weekend.
I sucked.
I played it again last night.
I ROCKED! (The video game said so.)
I owned that guitar….
So I’m a little crazy. That’s not news to anyone.
(Thanks, Chris, for your patience…and the fun!)
*Songs I conquered:
Slow Ride – Foghat
Rock and Roll All Night - Kiss

Of course you rock -- but you didn't need a game to tell you that!! :)
Foghat!! Now THERE'S a band I haven't heard mentioned for a long time!!
Beth the rocker chick! How awesome that you played Guitar Hero...
What platform are you playing on? I am partial to Wii because I'm a big Nintendo guy but that's just me.
Way to go ROCKER, now that you've conquered those songs you'll become addicted, like I did, infact I am so addicted that I have ALL of the Guitar Hero games.
Rock on, sister! Be careful with the head banging. We aren't as young as we used to be.
Ok, loser here, how does Guitar hero work? Was it fun? Rocking girl blogger, isn't one of those awards that went around?
Rock On. Old Rockers never die, we just strum away.
Wow! You are uber-cool! I'd never even heard of the game.
So can I hang with you, cool gal?
I sucked at it.
The crowd started booing & the guitar literally stopped working.
That's how much I suck at it.
So...I've decided that really, it's because I was born to be a lead singer instead of a guitar player. I've decided that I can't really waste my talent on the guitar when my voice & head have so much to say....
...stupid guitar!
sherry:
Confession. I chose Foghat because their song was in the "easy" category.
trish:
I was determined to get to that "You Rock" level. And when you see someone playing, you want a turn!
sornie:
XBOX360 - no Wii (yet!) in this household.
coffee mom:
Dear God, I hope I don't take on (another) addiction!
mrs.g.:
Head banging??? I don't think my head moves - I'm too busy concentrating on the screen!
oreneta:
You hold the guitar, strum, press the colour coded "thingmees" - oh, heck, I'm hopeless explaining this. You should check the link. And, yeah, it was fun!
jan:
I actually have trouble with the strumming part (probably in real life, too...)
patricia:
Yes, I am very cool but will still "hang" with you. And we should pick a date - soon.
lainey-paney:
Excellent thinking/rationalizing! The drums looked appealing too.
YAY!!!!!! You rocker, you!!! Now we need video of you rockin out!
I love that game...it's so addicting. good luck on that.....
YAY! YOU ROCK! I played with my nephews over Christmas, and I way sucked. My 15 year old nephew assured me that I sucked worse than anyone he'd ever seen play the game -- even worse than his mother, my twin sister! It was way fun, though. Lots of laughter!
I have no hand/eye coordination! I finally beat my 10 year old nephew, but I don't think he was trying very hard.
beth:
There is no way in hell a video will ever be made (with my knowledge) of me playing Guitar Hero!
la la:
Hey, beating a ten year old is nothing to sneeze at these days. Congratulations!
Beth,
Would have loved to have seen a video of you playing that!! I have never played the game, but I have heard so much about it, I am dying to try. Since I have little to no fine motor skills, I have a feeling I would suck too.
As for you, you are way too cool. I never thought of you as a rocking Mom, way to go. Sounds like you has a blast. You go!!!
XOXOX
Okay: tried that once and fell. You have hip creds. Or better balance.
I find the idea of you rocking that guitar strangely endearing.
... which is definitely not the case with watching my play "dance, dance revolution"
eileen:
Not so sure about being a "rocking" Mom - more like seriously determined to conquer something new - and fun!
minnesota matron:
"Hip creds." I like that.
princess pointful:
I'll bet "Dance, Dance Revolution" is in the hard category. Not there - yet.
I Love Guitar Hero! I also tried Rock BAND the other day. Lots of fun too but you have to have 4 coordinated people instead of just you. You ARE a rocking blogger!
Ohhhh yeah! Slow ride!!!
charlotta:
Rock Band would be fun - I'd get to belt out the lyrics!
jen. m.:
Good song - lucky for me it was one of the "easy" ones.
Don't mention the Wii. Kids go into the begging, whining stage when they see the word or hear about it/see it. Ugh. No, no.
Rock on.
ROCK ON, Beth!
ROCK ON!
Man, I hated Slow Ride before I heard it 60 times in a row thanks to my in-laws playing that game.
I started playing it, but then I decided to try to learn to play the guitar for real. Because I don't have enough going on.
Anyone can be a hero, but a Guitar Hero? You rock.
