Musings & rants on books, writing & anything else that strikes my fancy...'cause it's my blog!
Oh Beth...how true....how true. It's the only good thing I've ever done in my life.
beth:I'm sure you've done many good things in your life! I just happen to believe this is the most important job we do. And, ultimately, the most satisfying and rewarding - more so than the achievement of status, wealth and material goods.
Lainey-Paney's prayer on parenthood: Dear Lord,PLEASE don't let me screw this up!~Lainey-Paney
lainey-paney;You won't - you love that little guy so much. You're a great mom!
I love that saying and I believe it with all my heart and soul. I remind myself of this all of the time when the other crazy things in life start to mess with my head and get me side tracked. Thanks for this reminder, I can never hear it enough! XOXO
eileen:It seems crazy that we have to remind ourselves of this, right? But, yeah, other (yucky) stuff in life just keeps happening...We just have to keep our perspective - and our priorities straight.
I have to agree. We make mistakes. We are human. All I ask is that my kids know right from wrong and are compassionate to others. Then I know I did my job right. BTW, I don't think one ever "retires" from parenthood. My mom still worries about us kids and we've flown the nest a long time ago. A parent just never stops worrying. :)
shari:To worry, to worry well and to worry for as long as you live are all part of the job description!
Jackie O said that? I guess that HER children turned out fine, though too bad for junior. Maybe she was directing that comment at some in-laws of hers.
It's the best job out there too!! I wouldn't trade it for anything
dorky dad:You're right - some of the "cousins" did not fare so well.mike:It is the best, isn't it? The rewards far exceed the frustrations.
this is one of my favorite quotes. i fall in love with it again every time i hear it. and a great pic to go along with it!
Wonderful quote! I've got three and try not to mess up too often.
pavel:That's the goal! We're going to make mistakes - just have to do our best to minimize them.karen:Glad you like the picture - it's of two of my kids!
