Jamaica Farewell

No, I’m not off to Jamaica but we are going away for a few days and I do like that song.

I'm sad to say I'm on my way
Won't be back for many a day
My heart is down, my head is turning around
Had to leave my little blog in T.O. town

Alas and alack, you will be without my witty words until next Friday.

I’m not taking my laptop. I want to. I’m just not going to.

(I am not addicted, I am not addicted, I am not addicted…)

These mini-vacations are one of the perks of having older children. You don’t have to make travel plans around the March Break. You can take off when you darn well please.

Having said that, when we booked this trip I had no idea the Leafs would still be struggling for a playoff-spot. (Based on their history, I should have known.) Gads. The guys are going to have give it their best shot without me cheering them on. I will be missing two games. (Yes, I checked.)

While we’re away, my spouse plans to do some scuba diving. His new hobby. What an adventurous spirit this man possesses.

And then there’s me. I plan to sit on my (expanding) fanny, read, write, watch the ocean waves. Maybe a few drinks. (Oh, yeah…big time boozer Beth.)

I plan to be very careful (this time) not to become submerged by crashing waves and dragged by the undertow. I do not want a repeat of the sand-up-the-butt routine.

If you recall the post I wrote after my last trip — Beth On Vacation — you’re probably wondering why I’m even going. Well, I am capable of learning from past mistakes.

Have a wonderful week without me.

You know what? I’m probably going to miss this blogging thing — all you shadowy, “somewhere out there” people.

Is that normal?

Well, your preaching to the choir, of course we're going to think it's normal. Have a great time.

Will be checking out your blog ASAP.
I'd better have a great time - I'm packing as if I planned to live there forever! Geez.

oreneta:
Well, we're either all normal or all nuts. I'll miss your daily updates. Take care.

Ohhh a holiday, you know I like those...

Good for you for not taking your laptop...the separation gets easier after the first 24 hours. Of course drinks on the beach help too.

Have a great time!

We're talking separation anxiety, cold-turkey...I guess those drinks do help.

coffee mom:
Thanks.
And I've got the guilts. You're going on night shift and I'm going on holidays.

This will be too late, but hopefully the good vibes will reach you! And I'm sure you'll be back with your share of intriguing observations...
