Run On Sentence, Run On...

You know those times you use the Internet to search for something extremely important and crucial to life and then somehow find yourself going from site to site because other things catch your eye (again, all crucial to your well-being) and before you know it you’ve lost sight of your original purpose but, hey, you end up finding other things that are striking and/or funny (to you, probably just to you) so you Bookmark them or drag them to your desktop but when you go back later to find the original source of those dragged items (for credit and copyright purposes) you can’t because as a privacy fiend you cleared both your History and Cache* when you’d finished your extremely important browsing session?

Well, this something I found during my (valuable) research and I find it AMUSING!

“I'm lost ~ I've gone to find myself.
If I should return before I get back, please ask me to wait.”

I love words!  And all the amazing, inventive, thought-provoking and delightfully nonsensical images, concepts and ideas one can create with them.

And, no, I am not lost.  I found myself – I’m just waiting until I get back so I can let myself know.   ;)

*(Because I’d also been on my bank site and not for any naughty reason…)

That sounds like something Groucho Marx would have said!

huh?

i have a similar prob - earlier in the week while attempting to delete 'dead' names from my 'pals +' list in my sidebar, i deleted the whole list... [i think i clicked a 'delete element' button... so, do you think there's a prompt asking: 'are you sure you want to delete this' or 'restore deleted'???

fughedaboudit!!!

my list was of links to, what else? -> pals; of course, i can no longer visit those folks UNLESS they post on my page, after which i can click on their name/avatar...

i was offered help by a friend, but she uses a new blogger layout while i don't... so her suggested buttons are not available to me :(

When as kids, my brother, sister and I, used to get too crazy my mother would say, "Go outside and see if I'm there." And we did.

I am guilty of having an excessive number of bookmarks. *sigh* And I am easily distracted because I just know my life will be changed with my next click. We are funny creatures, aren't we?

It does, doesn’t it?
It reminds me of something he did say – “If I held you any closer I would be on the other side of you.” Crazy and I love it!

LW:
How very, very frustrating – having to start from scratch.
In future, as well as putting links on your sidebar, subscribe to all your pals’ blogs via Google Reader as a backup.

Cid:
And was she there? ;)
(Mothers are magic – they also have eyes in the back of their heads.)

The Bodhi Chicklet:
We are curious, intelligent and fascinating creatures - who just happen to have a great many Bookmarks. ;)

sounds just like me too. i have too many things bookmarked and interesting words and phrases scribbled in notebooks. i should get back to them before adding more to the list.

You may have too many bookmarks (I do) but you can never have too many interesting words and phrases jotted down. Don’t stop adding to the list!

Beth, I can totally relate to what you are saying about the Internet in general. For me, mostly it is YouTube surfing that makes me crazy. I will look for one thing and end up cross-referencing and watching a minimum of ten things!

Those words remind me of the things my patients say. One of them once handed me a piece of paper with this written on it: "Today I am a salad"

And then there’s iTunes - recommendations/suggestions....
So many different ways to spend TOO MUCH TIME on-line...

Sometimes what seems nonsensical actually contains a degree of sense/logic.
A mixed salad? Confusion?

I love this post and Cid's comment. Word play is the best kind of play. Well, it's near the top of the "how a single, celibate woman can play and have fun" list.

Just a few selections from our “play list” – words, addictions, on-line dating horror/humour, adorable young boys... ;)
We make our own fun. ;)

You are so fortunate to be able to find yourself. I am lost all the time. I can get lost crossing the street. I'm not sure where I am now.

Love,

We may occasionally lose our way but that doesn’t mean we’re lost. We always know where we are. It’s the way that gets lost... ;)
