Remember Me?

Yes, I am back.  Again.

My thanks to all who stayed in touch via comments and emails.  You kept the faith for over a year!

Among the many things that took place during that year, I finally (FINALLY!!) saw the end to my legal battle.  On June 16, 2011 the Separation Agreement was signed.  It only took four years, but, hey, the proverbial light at the end of the tunnel is now shining.

I can relate to Jann Arden’s song “Free.”  The lyrics ring true.  Well, except for the bit about changing my hair colour…I did that after the separation in 2007…and I happen to think I do look good in blue…and I wasn’t weak…blinded, yes, weak, no…and I’m not the kind to punch walls (that would hurt) or tear down paper (way too messy)...and I never lost myself…nor did I toss his stuff out on the lawn (too much effort)….

But if you listen to the song & check out the lyrics, you’ll get the drift - I’m free!

And very happy to be in such a place.

It’s like I faded
Just like the curtains in the sun
Just like the clouds I’m falling from
I let you change me
Down to the colour of my hair
Till I can’t find me anywhere

So I’m punching out walls
And tearing down paper
Cutting my bangs, yeah, sooner than later
I’m selling my soul right back to Jesus
Taking up hope and giving up weakness
Untangling the strings
I’m free, yeah
I’m free, yeah

I’m feeling better
Now that your stuff’s out in the yard
I should send God a thank-you card
Cause he’ll forgive me
Even if you never do
I never did look good in blue

So I’m punching out walls
And tearing down paper
Cutting my bangs, yeah, sooner than later
I’m selling my soul right back to Jesus
Taking up hope and giving up weakness
Untangling the strings
I’m free, yeah
I’m free, yeah
I’m free, yeah
I’m free, yeah

I’m feeling better
Now that your stuff’s out in the yard

Welcome back. I just took 3 months off myself. I thought about writing you a few times, but I figured you were in exile.

Keep writing, lovies!

I'm so glad to see you back. I was sad when you left and missed you. CONGRATULATIONS! Though my legal battle wasn't nearly as long, I know that sense of freedom (and urge to punch walls). SO HAPPY FOR YOU, Beth.

The Jann song is beautiful -- in her lovely sad Ardenish way.

wow! Look at all these comments! Here's to a fresh start, so happy to hear about the closure to your legal battles. That went on far too long and took far too much of your energy. And now - onward! Looking forward to some pithy posts here, my friend!

I am too, well at least a little bit!

SO glad you are through all the crap.
Life is like that.
Without the black we would never be able to see the white. Hope your white is SHINING!

Nice song and welcome back to this part of your interesting life. May the light at the end of the tunnel quickly turn to bright daylight with a receding black hole behind you.
