Always Thinking...

…although not always brilliantly.

Thoughts while emptying the dryer:

Why do t-shirts come out of the dryer inside-out when they went in the dryer right-side-out? (Or outside-out?)

And why do we use the expression “inside-out” rather than “outside-in”?

Followed by an attempt to turn these lofty thoughts into a metaphor for life:

Just when life seems to be in perfect alignment, going well & a perfect fit (although perhaps slightly damp), things are suddenly tossed about and it ends up topsy-turvy, upside-down and the fit seems a little off. And then you must grab life (or the t-shirt) and make things right again – turn them right-side-out – as best you can.

This from a woman who once wore a t-shirt inside-out in public which could also be a metaphor for life - my life – but I’m not going there…

My issue is more with the socks turning inside-out/outside-in. How about a metaphor for shrinkage - all the old, comfortable stuff no longer being the right size, no longer covering up what we think should be covered up. Ooooo! Thank you for the compliment on my pubescent looks. Sometimes I look at my zits and wonder why I still look like I'm 12 too! But seriously, it made my day as I have been feeling pretty tired and dragged down lately.

it's probably the other way around somewhere in the world. Kinda like how the english likes to drive on the wrong side of the road. Or something.

I too have worn clothing out in public inside out. Makes us interesting I figure.

Beth, sometimes it's "okay" to let your brain rest... lol!!

I'm still chuckling over this post...

And hard to tell sometimes that something is outside-in or inside-out -- some items are made with "seams" to be worn outside...

Life is too short ... if it feels "good"...it must be fine!! :)

Maybe more than once…the t-shirt, not the u/wear… ;)

The Bodhi Chicklet:
Ah, yes, and the missing socks as well.
‘Tis the season to feel draggy…fa-la-la-la-la…
(You do look great.)

choochoo:
So the English drive left-side-wrong or, to them, left-side-right…or something… ;)

oreneta:
Interesting, unique and/or simply oblivious. Peas in a pod.

sherry lee:
Brain is on warp-speed these days.
And, hey, my wise friend – those good feelings? Is it okay to wear them on an inside-out sleeve?

Consider this...

What if it is one of those shirts that are made to look like they are inside out?

Beth:
It says you are special – in a good way!
(I’m still looking for a good fit…)

sherry lee:
Will do. (Will try.)

laughingwolf:
Could very well be – some of us are insies, some of us are outies – but I have no idea what this means. (brain slowing down…)

Reeny:
Those shirts were created to confuse me further. And they have.
Actually, I do love that look.

I've wondered this myself, as I fold my 50th shirt, from backed up laundry. However, I must say I have never thought of it as a metaphor for life. Pretty high level thinking, one I don't think my brain could attain these days. I like it thou, I really do. It makes perfect sense to me.

I always wear my t-shirts inside out when I am at home. I put them on when I get them out of the dryer.

Well, I can't wait to hear a metaphor about the socks of life.

You know---the fact that the dryer seems to eat about 30% of all socks that ever enter the dryer....

Hmmm, life is a strange, inexplicable, experience. Last night I was just thinking how hilarious mine was, considering, but I don't know if I should go there.

Inside out in public... much better than pants zipper down while wearing pink underwear, which I once did. (I was really, really tired at the time.)

Wearing (very occasionally) my understand inside out. Shame on me.

And why do socks get lost somewhere between the dirty laundry basket, the washing machine, the dryer and the room?
