Thanksgiving/L’Action de Grâces

To all my fellow Canucks – enjoy the Thanksgiving weekend.

To all my American friends – yours is coming soon!

And to all those who don’t celebrate Thanksgiving – you may have saved the life of a turkey.

I’m the hostess-with-the-mostess for this year’s family Thanksgiving dinner taking place Saturday night. Think of me as I do battle with the big bird. I’m not fond of handling those giblets/innards.

Oh, never mind…it’s not all about me.

It’s about being thankful for all the blessings in your life.

And I am.

Okay, you seriously made me laugh with this -- bilingual!!! Very PC!!

Not handling gizzards and innards...girl, don't go fresh...go frozen!! :) they come in a little packet -- easy peasy to just toss in the trash!!

Those who don't celebrate Thanksgiving saved the life of a turkey!! lmbo!! Yes, they did!!

I cook the sucker and I don't even eat turkey!! But I do like the aroma of it cooking...everyone else eats it. I eat appetizers and wine; veggies and wine and dessert...and wine if there's any left in the bottle!!

To quote Arthur Carlson's famous line, "as God is my witness, I thought turkeys could fly!" -- my favourite Thanksgiving thought!!

Happy Turkey Day girlfriend. Don't knock yourself out in the kitchen, don't dribble the gravy and save room for dessert!!! ♥

Oh boy, good luck with the gizzards. And good luck with the family! I assume you'll be up early plucking and scrubbing. Have a wonderful weekend.

Just last week I saw a turkey buzzard the size of a dog ontop of a roof. I slowed down my car to get a better look. Happy Thanksgiving.

My PC moment? Was really hoping I got it right.
And, hey, I don’t even like handling the frozen gizzards!
Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours...

Guy:
Sweet – and the sentiment is reciprocated.

Seraphine:
I am a bit of a turkey. :)

oreneta:
Never mind the food prep and the decorations – just say a blessing on one of those gorgeous walks with Chuck.

Bodhi Chicklet:
It’s still early – the battle has yet to commence.
Have a wonderful Thanksgiving, too. Wear your new wool socks!

JR:
Holy crap – wouldn’t want to have to deal with a sucker that size.
Smart bird – making himself unavailable as a meal for next month.

I think I want to try and get dual citizenship - Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday. If I were Canadian and American, oh boy, oh boy, oh boy.

Or I could just have turkey more often. That would make more sense.

Have a wonderful holiday!

Beth, so far I have not been invited anywhere to partake of turkey, and I don't know how to bake one myself!
Bake?
Are they baked?
I don't want to have to resort to hamburger!
So, can I come to your place Saturday night?

A happy Thanks Giving to you too! gobble gobble

I wonder why we only have turkey twice a year? The aftermath? (i.e. the indigestion?)
Countdown to your next turkey dinner...

Cip:
Your comment came too late to garner an invite. Maybe next year? ;)
And, yeah, if you're lucky you bake a turkey. If you're not so lucky, you burn it!

Michael:
Happy Thanksgiving to you, too!
