"Singing In The..."

So, if the weather is lousy while you’re on vacation what the hell are you going to do?

Embrace the rain!

Although you can’t really tell from this picture, it was pissing rain.

Was sitting inside my sister’s porch watching (and sighing) over yet another heavy downfall when I had an epiphany. Wet is wet. If a swim in the lake isn’t happening, why not enjoy the precipitation?

Kind of crazy – but fun.

Nudity wasn’t an option…didn’t want to be “bare” naked…might have attracted my nemesis…on the other hand, that might be a great way to keep those critters away…

Funnily enough, it has pissed down with rain all weekend in Berkshire, too. Blech.

We must be having colder rain than you are having, though; or else you are just a hardy specimen. For my walk today, in which I got drenched twice, I wore a t-shirt, a fleece, and a rain jacket!

It's lovely to see you embrace the rain . . .

Lots of Ontario rain this season, that's for sure!

No rain here. Not since, uh, March?

Love the photo!
It is so lovely when you give up trying to keep yourself dry and just thoroughly embrace it, isn't it?

I'm not that hardy a specimen - it was warm and humid. The rain felt wonderful.

oreneta:
Good to be back - have exchanged one rain drenched area for another.

cip:
Hope the post was "goofy" enough for you!

diesel:
Can't say I envy your weather conditions - neither situation is good.

princess pointful:
It was such a spur of the moment, fun thing to do. However, at this point, the excessive rain is now getting on my nerves.

What is going on with your arm?! It's all bendy backwards!

During college, there was a huge downpour one afternoon that started just as class finished. My roommates and I ran to get our water guns and sprayed students as they passed the apartment complex. Sure, it might have been a little annoying to those walking past but really, they couldn't be mad. We weren't getting them any wetter than they already were.

I love warm rain.

Welcome Back. We've had a few squirts out here, but our rains won't return until October.

Wny not sing? Sometimes rain can be refreshing and bring out the inner child. When the kids were younger, I liked to jump into the puddles instead of avoiding them. It was just clean (maybe sometimes dirty if the water was) fun.

Welcome back. HUGS :)

And fun...

That is the perfect arm position for embracing the rain. Study it well. You may use it some day.

charlotta-love:
Funnier had they shot water back up at you!
We had some great water fights at the cottage, too.

guy:
Just a few squirts?
Our rainy season is supposed to be in the spring - not July and August!

shari:
Yeah, I think my inner child was definitely present. The experience certainly reminded me of childhood.

Glad you're back!!
I love how you embraced the situation...with the amount of rain we've had here this summer, it seems the only "logical" thing to have done!

Great photo and enjoy the summer, whatever shape it comes in. Too short in any case...

We NEED rain here! I would have liked some yesterday since I was in bed anyway! :)

I like your spirit! Great photo! Having a good time "in spite of" is a wonderful quality!

Welcome back!

I love it! You look totally free and happy. What a great concept, embracing the rain. This is a concept I could use for many things. Makes life much more exciting and full.
So glad your back.

Pissing rain? Ick. That really sounds, oh, just totally disgusting and wrong.

But at least you're enjoying yourself in the, er, rain.

That's a bummer you got rain. We have to cope with that here about 8 months of the year so we just ignore it and go hiking and stuff anyway.

now THIS is a picture!!!! what a way to enjoy the summer AND the rain!!!

Love the photo! Hope you had a great time. Me, I don't mind the rain so much...good for the flowers, and it cools down this nasty August heat...

it's water, life giving,
beautiful water.
if you aren't happy with it,
send some to california.
we're on fire again.
it might wash
some of the smoke away.

I have to remember my children have such a lovely perspective on this.

It's nice to see an adult who hasn't lost that perspective.

Thanks!
