Happy Day

Ted (son # 2) arrives home today after his world travels.

What do you bet I burst into tears when he walks through the door? And because he is my kid, he will find nothing unusual about that. (It’s a mom thing – or a this-kind-of-mom thing.)

Bless him. His special request dinner for his first night home? Mom’s spaghetti. Pretty damn simple to prepare. Younger brother voiced his complaint - “Why didn’t he ask for a roast beef dinner?!”

I have missed my boy. And that smile!

Does he still have the same smile? How fantastic is that!

What a great photo! Such a happy kid. And boy can I ever see your face in there, too.

Enjoy the spaghetti! (and of course, the son..)

Same smile but his teeth have been straightened!

I had to take another look at that photo to see "my face" in there. Guess it is - and I'll take that as a great compliment.

There is something about mom's cooking. I always want lasagna. Spagetti is much easier to make. That means less time preparing dinner and more time to spend catching up and - if you are my type of mom - looking at pictures.

Welcome home Ted!!! What an adorable little guy -- I remember those shirts...my boys wore them too..and they'd do the buttons up to the top!!

Cry all you like -- tears of joy...it's a mom thing!!!!

And spaghetti? Yum!!!

Who can complain about spaghetti. Invariably on every foreign trip I take I'll order spaghetti somewhere just to feel like home.

Yay! Ted is coming home. I want Beth's spaghetti! Sounds delicious!

What an adorable photo!

Is Ted your oldest son?

Awww. Happy reunion!! If the youngest son goes abroad, he can have roast beef. It's Ted's night.

You're entitled to tears; he's your son and you missed him. Nothing wrong (sniff) with that.

awwwwwww....isn't it sweet, that no matter how old they get, they still want a home cooked meal from Mom....and the smile stays the same. The teeth might look a little different, but it's still there.

Have fun with your boy, and go ahead and bawl your eyes out....

Because of Ted...I made spaghetti last night too -- it sounded good so I went for it.

And no need to double check Beth -- I see you in Ted's photo as well...very much!

My guilt runneth over. (Although I'm used to that.)
And I don't recall any special requests!
But still, sorry, sweetie...

Don't even ask me how I am ever going to be happy after all these little people are big and gone. I think I will be bursting into tears on a regular basis!
