Kiss and Tell

Yes, the above picture is of my eldest son kissing a pig.

He was that kind of kid.

My youngest is also in the picture – observing his big brother with infinite patience and wonder. (A common expression and occurrence.)

This picture sits above my desk area (see previous post). Someone e-mailed me and asked what exactly was going on in the photo.

So, here you go, someone! An explanation. Of sorts.

I can’t really explain why my son felt inclined to kiss a pig. An unusual thing to do? Perhaps, but I’m somewhat used to the quirks and unique characteristics of my children.

He was also known to kiss frogs and toads.

He did not turn into a Prince – except to his mother and girlfriend.

(My apologies for the quality of the photo – I had to take a picture of a picture.)

They know if they get as far as the family room!
Maybe he was trying to perfect his technique before the real deal came along.

I've kissed a few pigs in my time...but that's a WHOLE different story!

We've all got to start somewhere!

all mod cons:
I think we've all kissed some pigs in our lives - memorable moments in their own way. (Oink.)

I LOVE that picture. It is the sweetest thing. I was the type of kid who would kiss a pig or any other animal that I thought was cute. Luckily, there are no pictures, except maybe of me and the dogs. Well I still kiss my dog! I especially love the look on your younger ones face. What beautiful children!!! Where was the pig? Were you at a fair or visiting a farm or did you own it?

Very true...but I'm not squealing, you can't make me tell you!

Did we own a pig??? Yikes, no!
Hamsters, birds, turtles, lizards, salamanders, a guinea pig and dogs, yes. A pig, no way...

all mod cons:
I think it would make for a fascinating post - Kissing Pigs - My Life in the "Pen."

I only eat pigs. I don't kiss them. But I admire anybody who does, so kudos to the kid!

I also admire people who eat pickled pigs feet. Yup. Pigs feet. What a delicious treat.

I think that your swine kissing son is cute as hell!
I must admit I have never kissed a pig.
But I have EATEN many!
I have eaten veritable HERDS of pigs!
Oh yes...... kosher I am NOT!
But let's not discuss anatomy!

Today, when I rounded the corner onto Metcalfe, from the Sparks Street Mall, I saw John at his little wiener-stand [he's been there, 19 years!] and I did not have to give him my order.
He just said, "Bratwurst?" and I grunted,
"Damn straight!"

I will die soon, [I have processed this] from PROFOUNDLY ADVANCED artery clogulation but, while I can yet somewhat breathe without mechanical assistance, I maintain... PIGS FRIKKIN' ROCK!
[I love eating pigs, I'm sorry!]

While I'm at it, may I just subtly warn ALL Loony Tunes© cartoon characters, to RUN from me.
I am frikkin' out of control!

dorky dad:
Pickled pigs' feet - on a par with seeing cow tongues at the butcher's.
Yuck, blech, hurl...

cip:
Run, Porky Pig, run!

(You are one crazy dude...)

I actually love the photo of a photo -- it gives it a kind of Norman Rockwell feel. Marvelous!

Thanks for saying so - although I don't recall Norman Rockwell's work being out of focus, off kilter and showing such poor lighting!
