Acceptance Post
I’m thrilled, honoured, touched, grateful - you name it - I’m “it.”
My Utopia has bestowed upon me (ya, little ole me!) the following awards.
The Thoughtful Blogger Award
“For those who answer blog comments, emails, and make their visitors feel at home on their blogs. For the people who take others feelings into consideration before speaking out and who are kind and courteous. Also for all of those bloggers who spend so much of their time helping others bloggers design, improve, and fix their sites. This award is for those generous bloggers who think of others.”
(The helping others with their site bit? Not so much. I’d improve my own site if I knew how.)
The Creative Blogger Award
“For those who bring unique and creative elements to their blogs. For those who incorporate art, music, creative writing, photo's, and other beautiful visual effects into their website. For those who put a unique spin on things and come up with new ideas. This award is for the artsy, the funky, the inventor, and even the rebel. This award is for those creative individuals who stand out from the crowd.”
(This one is a real stretch but I still love her for giving it to me. It’s something to aspire to. Maybe someday I’ll be ”artsy,” “funky” and a “rebel.” Stranger things have happened.)
I’m now supposed to pass these awards on to five other people. I did the math. I’d have to come up with ten people. You may know from previous posts that I’m not good at this. It’s so bloody hard to choose.
But I can tell you who I’m NOT giving them to:
THE THREE D’s – Dan, Diesel and Dorky Dad. Not because they don’t deserve them but because they are the recipients of so many damn awards. Don’t want their heads to burst.
I’m going to pass each of these awards on to just one person.
(I just broke the rules – I am on my way to becoming a rebel!)
The Thoughtful Blogger Award description applies to so many bloggers. They know who they are. Their kindness and support have been tremendous.
To choose just one, I did my usual trick – put the names of these bloggers in a hat and had my sister do the honours.
Drum roll….
The Thoughtful Blogger Award goes to Trish of The Coffee House!
Trish was one of my very first blog friends. This is a friendship I treasure.
As for The Creative Blogger Award – no names in a hat for this one.
The first person who came to mind was All Mod Cons of Phoque Me!
Congrats, buddy - your creativity has paid off. You can now add this little do-hickey to your site. And if I have trouble adding them to my sidebar, I’m going to bug you for help ‘cause you’re so darned creative. (It’s official.)
And now I must publish this post which involves putting in all these links. (God, I hope I don’t get any of them wrong.)
Sigh.
The burden of honour and fame is tremendous.
But I love it! My thanks to My Utopia.

...and richly deserved, hats off to you. I don't think the creativity one such a stretch, you frequently have an interesting spin on topics...
the thoughtfulness fits to a tee...
Congratulations Beth!! Both award are well deserved. Could not think of a better person to recieve either one, you are very thoughtful and your posts are always creative and intersting. They always get me thinking.
I know I am so glad I found your blog in this huge cyberworld.
Take care and celebrate!
LOL! I was actually thinking, "Uh, oh, here it comes...." Glad to not get the award this time. :)
I'll definitely check out your picks. You certainly deserve the awards.
Congrats! I agree with everyone... well deserved.
oreneta:
Many thanks. (Sometimes that "spin" of mine veers off into total irrelevancy...)
eileen:
And I'm glad you "found" me so that I could find you!
diesel:
Gotcha!
Bec:
Thanks. (And I think I should have added "humbled" to my list.)
Great awards there Beth! You so deserve them...now as for me *blush* I am hardly worthy, but I would be glad and honoured to accept it.
trish:
You are definitely worthy!
Congrads on the award!!
You've been tagged. Come by and see
mike:
Thanks.
And I saw the tag - will get on it!
I read it as being that you are creative with your words : )
myutopia:
Thanks - those are words I love to hear!
Wow! Thanks!
I'd better get to sprucing up my blog as it's looking a little barren at the moment. But huge thanks for the award!
I get to add a cool little picture too, bonus!
all mod cons:
Wow back at ya. Just read your blog. Now I'm really, really glad I gave you an award - 'cause that will make things all better, right? (Not.)
And re: adding a little picture to your blog - didn't someone once give you a Thinking Blogger Award?? You can add two images!
Yes...err...someone..did give me the Thinking Blogger Award! But that was for my "old" blog...so I didn't feel it was acceptable to move it over. I'll just have to earn it again! Well, get picked out of a hat anyway!
Nice blog. Had a good time browsing around. Oh, hey ... I LOVE that photo of the books in your sidebar.
all mod cons:
I've read both your blogs and have come to the conclusion that you are still thinking.
Thus, I am officially bestowing upon you (yet again) The Thinking Blogger Award. Put it up!
(You still haven't gotten over that out of a hat thing??!!)
bobbarama:
Glad you enjoyed your browse - thanks for stopping by!
I always appreciate it when people give me one of the blogger awards. But your comment on this blog is definitely worth just as much as any of them.
And Trish certainly deserves the thoughtful blogger award.
And you deserve yours. Congrats!
dorky dad:
I figured you'd be okay with a "You're Not Getting an Award" kind of award!
What? You didn't pass on "Most Neurotic Blogger" to me???
Well, there's always next year...
Mof3:
There should be a "Most Neurotic Blogger Award - and when I get it, I'll pass it along. (Same goes for you to me...)
Sniff, sniff ... sniff, sniff.
[reaching for a Kleenex ...]
Just teasing! Seriously, those are wonderful picks Beth! Hugs! :)
dan:
Geez - if I'd known you were going to cry, I wouldn't have lumped you with the Three D's.
Pull yourself together!
