In the midst of coping with some monumental crap life just handed you on a platter, you can still get the giggles.
Over something ridiculous, silly or just plain awful.
(Is this what they mean by gallows humour?)
Laughter truly is a gift. A downright miracle.
Granted, I’ve only ever experienced this phenomenon with women. However, I would never rule out the possibility there are some men out there who might be on the same crazy wavelength.
Hope you’re all sharing laughter with someone in your life…
And, oh yeah, one more (wonderful) thing.
Mamma from Mamma Loves has awarded me a Thinking Blogger Award.
As many of you know, this is my second time receiving this distinguished award. All this thinking and my head’s gonna explode!
Hey, does this mean I’m twice as smart?
(That would be a no. While I managed to upload the Thinking Blogger Award image that first time, I can't remember how to do it now. I've tried three times. Forget it.)
She passed along this honour with the kindest words — so very much appreciated.
“And finally, Beth at Books Etc. from whom I gain so much regarding her experience raising boys and her ability to make me fall in love with words all over again.”
Thanks so much, Mamma! (I feel like a kid saying that…)
Regrets as to not continuing the meme by choosing five others — it was a horrendous experience doing that the last time.
Every freakin’ blog I read is great. (And makes me think…)

Hey, I just found your blog through Dorky Dad's. I can definitely appreciate gallows humor.
BTW, I noticed that you listed Vonnegut as one of your favorite authors, and I actually kinda sorta posted about him today. I'm also a big C.S. Lewis fan. :)
That Mamma knows her blogs, I must say. And I really enjoy reading your blog.
(I, too, like C.S. Lewis ...)
My sister married her husband because he rolls around with the giggles on a regular basis. I imagine from her perspective there are a few other issues, but I am sure that is why she loves him.
The man can LAUGH.
Congrats!!! You so deserve it. You have a way with words, that's for sure.
and I usually get a fit of the giggles at the most inappropriate times!

Any kind of humour is a blessing...
I'll be checking out your post re: Vonnegut. He'll be missed.
dorky dad:
Get that little guy of yours into the Narnia series by C.S. Lewis when he's old enough. (The movie doesn't do it justice.)
oreneta:
You rarely see that in a list of "what women want in a man" but it's a biggie!

Well, if you'd been here while I was trying to post that Thinking Award image, we'd have had a fit of the giggles. This was after I'd just advised you how to do it!
Congrats again! And how funny is that, that the Thinking Blogger winner can't figure out how to post the damn Thinking Blogger pic? Trust me, I'd be in the same stinking thinking boat.
Thankfully the hubby and I can laugh at just about everything together. Giggles, guffaws, chortles, chuckles and twitters (ok, maybe he doesn't twitter).
Hope all is well with you, and keep on laughing and thinking!
patricia:
Very funny. Ha ha.
It slays me that I posted that thing before and can't figure out how to do it now.
So much for thinking.
Congrats on your award!!!! I really heart your blog. :-)
attila:
And I really "heart" yours!
