Arghh!

I feel a rant coming on about my Toronto Maple Leafs. Almost wrote one after last night’s game/slaughter while I was still reeling from their seventh loss in a row. Held back out of sympathy for my readers. I don’t think I have a fan base for this subject. If you don’t like hockey, you’re excused. You can “leave” now.

Detroit 5 — Leafs 1. The Leafs had 14 penalties. You do not score when you are in the penalty box. You need to score in order to win games. And I don’t know how much more of this I can take. I make sacrifices in order to watch these games. They cut into my precious reading time.

I told the hubby I thought I might make a new game plan, juggle the lines — help out the coach Paul Maurice. He nodded. He takes my ranting seriously during these games. He’s learned. And I just might do it. Let’s see — how about benching the usual “stars” and letting all the rookies have a go at it? What has the team got to lose? Absolutely nothing. They’re losing anyway.

Obviously, my previous TML post of November 3rd never made it to the higher-ups at Maple Leaf Sports and Entertainment. I offered my services to attend the home games (at the very least) since the Leafs don’t lose when I’m right there with them. I think they need me – need to feel my positive vibes.

Keep an eye out for the results of the upcoming game on December 19th. I will be there.

oreneta - thanks for the comment! Amazing. Didn't think anyone would even read the damn thing considering the subject matter...

You sound like you have it as bad for the Leafs as I do for the Steelers. Incidentally, they haven't been winning much, either. Though they did this week!

Mom of three - Yeah, I have it bad. It's an addiction. Could be worse, right? (I'm a "Mom of three" too. Good "odd" number.)

trish - I'm more of a sit up straight, fist in the air with a "Yes!" kind of fan. It helps that there are others in the house like myself. (Maybe not quite as intense??)
