Beth if you start telling people you are "dai dai" they will definitely think you are not OKAY...unless of course they are from Thailand in which case you ARE okay...k??
Were you into the rum & egg nog when you did this post??? hee!!!
But we've been taught that whenever a woman says she's "ok" she's not really "ok" and that you should pester her until she gives in a tells you what's wrong.
This reminds me of an episode of The Rockford Files. A woman in trouble asks Rockford for help, but when he calls the police she denies ever having seen him.
"You must have a deep emotional problem," she says to Rockford in the presence of the police.
Angie: For most, my performance is always stellar! Hope all is well with you & yours this holiday season.
DWei: I thought it went like this: If you ask a woman is she’s okay and the reply is, “I’m fine,” you must be very, very careful interpreting the meaning of the word “fine.” Confusing, huh? ;)
GB: As in, I was okay until you asked me if I was okay but now I’m wondering if I really am okay…” ;)
What does ok mean really? I mean yes I am OK, pretty much everyday I am ok, does that mean I am on top of everything and feeling super, nope...it means I am ok so I am with your reader who said they didn't like it when people wouldn't give up on the OK question...if I answer yes then leave me alone, I will reach out if and when I need your help, OK?

I'm okay if you're okay! ;)
in thailand, they kept saying 'dai, dai' for everything. later i found out it was thai for Okay.
Sherry:
Uh-oh. You're in trouble. ;)
Jaya J:
Perhaps I'll just start telling people, "I'm dai." ;)

Perhaps a few of your candy cane martinis. Maybe.... :)
Well, I'm glad that you're okay. It's easy to not be around the holidays.

Mixed messages much? :(

"You must have a deep emotional problem," she says to Rockford in the presence of the police.
"I'm beginning to have one," replies Rockford.

Confession: I get annoyed when friends don't give up on the "are you OK ?" schtick when I am technically OK, just riding the waves of life. OK?
P.S. I forgot to ask if you're OK.
The Bodhi Chicklet:
I’m riding the waves…hoping to touch land by the 25th (or sooner).
My surfing skills are lousy. ;)
always take care to be okay :)
my typical response the Q:
what's it to ya?
:P lol
think i'll reply this instead [the wv]: muctylat

Okay!
LW:
Reply with “muctylat” and people will assume you’re not okay!
(See Sherry’s comment re: “dai.”)
nursemyra:
Recipe from Sherry’s blog (see above).
candy cane martini: one shot of each of peppermint schnapps, creme de cacao and vodka
Enjoy!
Terra:
I’m wondering what vibes or facial expressions are exhibited to prompt the question. Pensive? Glum? Serious? I can’t smile all the time!
I feel like that all the time. D:
saw it; 'dai' sounds like command, 'die'!
a good idea for some out there... lol
