Good Times
"I urge you to please notice when you are happy, and exclaim or murmur or think at some point, “If this isn't nice, I don't know what is.” ~ Kurt Vonnegut Thank you, Kurt. (Love this man.)I’ve learned to do this – even if it’s simply enjoying coffee with a friend, a hug or moments of craziness and laughter. It makes the tough times bearable - and the good ones even better.Enjoy your weekend!

What an amazing quote Beth. I'm keeping this one for the day that I need to use it as part of the eulogy I will be giving. Celebrate life...the sorrow and the joy. Know which is which and remember that you can still find the happy within the sad.
Thank you for your words and the reminder -- "it makes the tough times bearable and the good ones even better". Hear, hear!! ♥
Great picture! And I love that quote - it's so true. Kurt Vonnegut was such an amazing guy, wasn't he?
Have a lovely weekend :)
Yes, that's very true, one must savour every dollop of happiness. Even scratching an itch can be pleasurable.
Sherry:
And thank you for the inspiration.
Stay strong – savour the “happy.”
Trish:
Don’t know if you remember another Vonnegut quotation I once posted - “I tell you, we are here on Earth to fart around, and don't let anybody tell you different.”
I also try to heed this advice & often succeed too well! ;)
GB:
Or picking a scab...although that is not on my list of pleasurable pastimes.
I should enjoy life more. Not that I'm grumpy or anything, but I'm always running. It's good to hit the pause button once in a while and be grateful for these precious moments.
I love that picture. What handsome boys you have.
Zhu:
You capture many, many precious moments with your camera...
Cid:
Thanks – although they look pretty darn goofy in that picture. When behaving/posing normally, they are quite a handsome crew!
Happy Halloween!!!!! There's a good moment for me, whole communities coming together for a single fun purpose....and a wicked sugar high!
enjoy your weekend, too, beth... and yeah, nothing like a good family, esp when all they do is fart around! :O lol
Who are the other people in the photo with you sweetie?
Oreneta:
You don’t simply “murmur” – you “exclaim” with enthusiasm!
LW:
All part of being a good mother – teaching your kids the joy of farting around! ;)
Myra:
They’re The Three Stooges – my crazy sons!
I thought they might be your sons. How old are they?
There are few things as refreshing as good friends, good laughter, and good beer.
Even better when those friends can be your offspring!
Cheers!
If it wasn't for friends, I don't know where I would be. They have supported me through the nasties and been there for the good times. There has been a high light on being present these last years, recognizing, acknowledging and appreciating the good moments. So I say, Yes, Yes, Yes! to Mr. Vonnegut's observations.
I am SO happy to see you back at it!! This warmed my heart immensely.
Cip:
Skating (outdoors) with aliens can be refreshing, too! ;)
Bodhi:
Your comment? Your words? Ditto.
Here’s to all those moments and being present!
Lynn:
It’s good to be back. Still waiting for you to start blogging!
Beth! I'm happy! I need to SHOUT about it! And do you know what...I feel better! Thanks for that!
Word to that. Nice picture btw.
Juliette:
I’m HAPPY you’re HAPPY!
Simon:
It is a great quotation, isn’t it?
