Of Weddings and Other Ceremonies

No, I did not bake a wedding cake.

That’s the snow accumulation on the outside deck table – taken through a window because the less often I have to put on my boots and Nanook of the North ensemble, the better.

If I had to choose between this amount of snow (and it’s still coming down) or the bitter, bitter cold of last week, I would choose….heading south to a warm and tropical climate!

This is an official whine. I’ve had enough.

And, yes, it’s all very beautiful. But still...

(To all my American friends – there will be many Canadians watching the very special Inauguration Ceremony tomorrow – myself included. What an historic moment.)

Free lodging and food in Pasadena! Just minutes from Los Angeles, Hollywood, MALIBU, Santa Monica and a whole host of other beaches.

Lodging includes a queen bed (I'll sleep on the couch with that pesky cat!) with a lovely duvet cover and it's just a short distance to the bathroom -- the place is tiny, what can I say?

You'll have access to a patio hammock too!

Food includes the freshest organic veggies, fruits and meats.

And coffee from Peet's is to die for!

Would you like to make a reservation?

Oh, temperature is in the 80s this week. Will be down a bit by next weekend but still lovely!

And by April's Spring break, you're guaranteed a 70s and sunshine week! : )

I'll take the snow over the cold..but I'm with you on flying south!!! NOW!!!

As much as I realize that tomorrow is an historic event...I am done...I've been Obama'd to death...I'm deeply satisfied as a person to know that history has turned on it's axis but this has taken on way more importance IMO. It takes Americans FOREVER to do their political thing.

I also realize that my opinion will likely make me unpopular with some...I'm okay with that.

I'm getting so so tired of shoveling snow. I can't wait for spring.

She:
Wow! Cold, snow and ice vs. all of that...

Sherry:
Popularity is highly over-rated.
Better to have the strength of your convictions/beliefs and LET THEM OUT.

JR:
When did snow stop being fun?

I am SO sick of winter. Bring on the warm sunshine.

Bet Mother Nature gave Old Man Winter the deep freeze. Only thing is, us kids always suffer....

Beth, I saw the first snowdrops today! (Snow is beautiful, but I'm with you -- I'd rather have flowers!!) I like the idea of your snow cake, though.

Is SHE trying to make us all feel insanely jealous? (cause it's working)

BTW, I'm coming to Toronto in February. I know; it seems crazy to me, too.

If you have time while you're here, email me - we could get together for a coffee (or tea!). Would love to meet you.
