'Tis That Time...

“Twas the night (or a few days) before Christmas
And all through the house
Not a creature was stirring,
Not even a mouse….”

EXCEPT IN THIS HOUSE!

There have been mouse sightings in the basement. The boys watch TV in their bachelor pad down there and calmly report the latest sighting.

“Yup, saw it run under the bookcase.”

“Well, I either saw two mice or the same one ran back and forth.”

I like to think there’s just one. (I do know better.)

I feel (sort of) sorry for these creatures with the cold weather and all, but why my house? I am not filling his and/or her stocking.

And on that seasonal note (or unfortunate coincidence) I shall bid you all adieu. My Christmas leave of absence from the blogging world begins today.

To those who celebrate Christmas - have a Merry One!

To all - Season’s Greetings!

ewww, mice!!! I laughed at you not filling their stockings...I just hope they don't "fill" yours!!!

Merriest of Christmas blessings Beth. I know this one will be a special one for you in so many ways...please make some magic and some memories, start some new traditions and may the new year start fresh, happy, joyful and loving for you.

So happy to have met you this year!!

I do not like rodents at all, but they do like warm houses. I am praying if they are in our house this year, I just don't see them. I hope our cat (who came last spring) will keep them at bay.

Merry Christmas Beth! I will miss you! I hope you and your family have a wonderful holiday season. You will be in my thoughts. Cheers for the new year (pretend glasses clinking)
XOXO

Merry Christmas, Beth! And Happy New Year!! :)

I don't think they will expect a stocking, but I'd look for holes...We had a few mice a few months ago-when it was still warm!! Ugh. I am not a fan of mice. But they do seem to find houses with "warm" people. :)

Cheers.

I'm not a big fan of mice. I hear living near a subway line can increase you chances of getting mice.

I wouldn't feel sorry for them...they don't pay rent.

Happy holidays!

Our hamster got loose during the night this past week. And that little blur of fur is what caught my eye one morning at 5:30 am. Your mouse story reminded me! Merry Christmas to you and yours, Beth!!

I highly recommend the movie Mousehunt!
It is so hilarious. A real Christmas type movie, we all watched it yesterday on TV.
It will show you how a mouse, just one mouse, can really frig things up!

A few weeks ago our cat chased a mouse into our house and Mrs. Diesel actually jumped up on a chair and started screaming, just like in the cartoons.

Merry Christmas, Beth!

Have a very Merry Christmas and I'll be watching for 2008 posts soon!

Yeah, if there's one mouse, there may be more. Time for the traps - let the boys monitor them...
