Watch Over Me

Someone I love told me about this song. Each time I listen to it, I think of myself watching over that certain someone.

Because I do. Or try to as best I can.

As for me? For most of my life I believed I worked best without a safety net - preferred coping and handling things on my own. I realize now that a safety net has always existed beneath and around me.

I am blessed to have so many people in my life to watch over me.

You know who you are – know also that I am watching over you, too.

(And to everyone reading this, I hope you are equally blessed.)

Watch Over Me – Bernard Fanning

When trouble fills my world
You bring me peace
You calm me down
You're my relief
When walls come crashing down around my feet
You light my way
You're my release

So say you'll watch over me
When I'm in too deep
Tell me you'll always be
There to pull me free

When the sun is beating down upon my brow
You are my shade
You cool me down
Every time I tried to turn away
You brought me 'round
Your humble way

So say you'll watch over me
When I'm in too deep
Tell me you'll always be
There to pull me free
There to rescue me

For every time you sheltered me from harm
You showed me truth
Kept me warm
Every time you left me on the street
I found my way
I found my feet

So say you'll watch over me
When I'm in too deep
Tell me you'll always be
There to pull me free
There to rescue me
There to pull me free
There to rescue me

Ahh, Sheiba - I hope you consider me to be one of your watchers, even though my way isn't exactly 'humble'. Love ya - always have, always will.

Having that net is so so important, remembering that it's there an recognising the people in it is too...you're so right.

Beth,
I love this so much. I have never heard this song before, but the words and the music, went right to my heart. I so needed to hear this tonight.
Thank you for this, and more importantly, thank you for you.
XOXOXO

Ditto. I love this. What a great song. I hope you are feeling a bit more replenished knowing that you are being watched over by many who love you.

Bernard released a solo album that is first class - you should listen to all the songs - they are fantastic. He is the lead singer of one of Australia's most successful bands - Powderfinger (their music is very different to his solo stuff) You have excellent taste in music luvvy!

I thought so...glad you do, too.

megan:
And not only will I "watch over" you, I've got your back, too!

oreneta:
And sometimes that recognition comes as such a wonderful surprise.

minnesota matron:
My pleasure!

sherry:
Deal.
(Beware - I've been known to burn cookies.)

beth:
They do, don't they? Glad they "spoke" to you, too.

eileen:
I'm so glad this song touched you - especially at this time when you need to hear those words.
(And your words touched me.)

I see you've been replenished, too. It happens, right? Sometimes unexpectedly.

lynda:
I've listened to many of his other songs - love them.
As for my excellent taste in music? Thanks, mate!

Hi Beth,
That is so lovely and the song is super. You are blessed.

I would like to paint something for you.

Do you have some things that symbolize all the positives that you are working towards right now?

If you do, and you would like, send me some images. I would like to do something fo you.
Could be digital or by snail mail, could be anything and some color thoughts.

?

I love this song.

Honestly, how could someone not want to watch over you. You seem the nicest and most gentle soul.
